On Friday the 19th of May, 26 visitors were invited to preview this Indian Stammering Association website.  The website has been created to form the main thrust of the ISA project “ to Raise Stammering Awareness in India".  Keith Boss, the ISA project coordinator, welcomed all the visitors to the website and invited them browse around. 

The site is now available for normal public access and use. 

Please use the LOGIN menu to register. The site will send an email to you. Click on the URL given in the email to return to the site and to become a registered member. As a registered member you will see more of the site.

 A good place to start would be to look at the main menu on the left side of the screen and to click on "ISA Stammering awareness project". This reveals 4 areas. Examination of the listed areas under the heading "Project Team Areas" will give the browser and idea of the type of information the team needs to collect to complete the project. Examination of the area "About the ISA Project", will give the browser a detailed idea about the scope and intent of the project because most of the areas have been completed. The "Introduction to ISA" and "Project Plans" are worth a study.

"Plans for TISA" will tell the browser the initial ideas about a new body called "The Indian Stammering Association" (TISA). It is my recommendation that this body be created as soon as practicable. Another area to look at is "Stammering Information" in the main menu on the home screen. This contains a list of 12 folders.  The team, and any other helpers, in the course of its work needs to build up a wide range of information in every folder. This gives further idea of both the breadth and the depth of the project.

Again in the home screen and main menu, click on “Help in Indian States”.  This has 35 folders, which need to be filled up with information for the Indian Person Who Stammers (PWS).  The information for each state will contain details about therapists, health clinics, self-help groups, an Indian PWS coordinator and will be as comprehensive as possible.

As you browse around other areas of the website remember that this is only a first glimpse of what is this website can do. There are other ideas in the pipeline, for an online shop, a children's area, a fun area for adults and teenagers and an ever-changing News area to let people know what is happening in India and in the rest of the world regarding Stuttering/Stammering and Stuttering/Stammering treatment.  Some of these ideas will be more appropriate to the TISA website, which will be part of a fund raising, non profit-making charity.

One final word, I would like to talk about the completion of this ISA project. The ISA works to help others to help themselves.  I will regard the project as completed when the Indian staff of TISA begin work and carry on with the tasks as outlined in different places on this website. ISA’s role will then be completed. I expect my last official recommendation will be that TISA adopts this website as its own website, and that the Indian members of this team be allowed to continue on with their work. Once TISA is formed, I can available if required.
